You come out cold and wet, and the car is a long way up the beach.

That is the moment we make these for. Nothing here is thin. What changes between them is the pockets, the shoulder, and the sizing.

Sustainable

Certified, not just claimed.

Every blank we print on is certified organic cotton. Organic cotton is grown without toxic and persistent pesticides or synthetic fertilizers, and it takes less water than conventional cotton. Less, not none.

Four standards cover it. GOTS for the organic fibre and the dye chain, OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 for harmful substances in the finished garment, Fair Wear Foundation for labour conditions in the factories, and PETA-Approved Vegan. You can look all four up without taking our word for it.

Wax

The name is a smell.

Off the Wax takes its name from Off-the-Wall on the North Shore, but the brand comes from cold, grey, foggy water in San Francisco. Ocean Beach, and the long walk back up it.

The name is two senses put together, sight and smell. Fresh wax on a board before you paddle out. That is the whole idea, and everything we make is for the part of the day that comes after.

Ocean

The ocean is the reason the rules are strict.

Polyester sheds microplastic every time it is washed, and it ends up exactly where we surf. That is not an abstract concern from a sustainability report. It is the water you are sitting in at dawn.

So when a colourway quietly swaps in virgin polyester, we drop the colourway, even when it is the one that would sell.

How we make them

Sustainable is a word everyone uses. Here is what we actually do.

Nothing is made until you buy it

Yours is printed after you order it, not before. No warehouse of unsold stock, no end of season pile going to landfill. It adds a few days to delivery. That is the trade.

One price, no fake discounts

Every hoodie is $88, every day, with free shipping in the US and no minimum. We do not mark things up in October so we can mark them down in November.

We publish where the claims stop

We are not carbon neutral, not plastic free, and not zero footprint. The recycled polyester in our blends is still plastic. We would rather tell you that than let you assume otherwise.
